Watsonville native Michael was a freelance media writer with the Santa Cruz Sentinel for ten years, covering music, video, and the films no one else wanted review. ("The Waterboy", anyone?) After a narrow brush with standup comedy in the 80s - he sold four jokes to Jay Leno back when Jay Leno was still funny - Michael turned to music and songwriting. These days he's a singer/songwriter with a fondness for story songs. Here in the Patch, Michael covers local music, animal rescue, and occasional forays into pop culture minutia.
