Melissa Roberts, Neighbor

Melissa Roberts is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology.  Aside from her interest in behavior, Melissa has had a lifelong passion for animals.  Having worked for the San Diego Humane Society as well as the Sacramento SPCA, Melissa possesses valuable hands on experience working with animals in various situations.  In combining her technical knowledge of behavior gained through her schooling with her passion and practical experience with animals, Melissa has found a niche in training animals. 

She hopes to one day make training a full-time career, specializing in the use and promotion of positive reinforcement training methods.  One of her favorite pastimes is teaching her Rat Terrier, Teri new tricks and behaviors and posting videos of their progress on her YouTube page.  As a continued supporter of the Sacramento SPCA, she has remained a foster parent for young, sick, injured or behaviorally challenged animals.  Over the years she has opened her home to many animals who need a place to stay outside of the shelter to mature, heal and rehabilitate. 

Melissa attended Golden Empire Elementary school and Albert Einstein Middle School.  She played Rosemont soccer for seven years as a child and is an avid supporter of Rosemont community programs. Aside from moving away briefly during college, she has spent the majority of her life residing in Rosemont.
