I'm one of many volunteers that pass out the flyers. Many people throw the flyers away without…Read More looking at them. At our recent block party I was asked about the event. I gave them the information, but I also told them the information was on the flyer that I left at their door. They not only got a flyer, but they got an email about it from me. The local stores and restaurants were handing flyers out. Besides the lighted sign at Watt and Kiefer there were signs around the Rosemont community. We have had problems in the pass with people tearing down the signs, but we have no control over that. As Brad stated, the best thing to do is to get involved. The more involvement of community members the better it is for our community. We did everything possible to get the word out. We welcome everyone to come to our meetings at Atonement Church (corner of Kiefer and Westporter) the first Thursday of every month at 7:00 p.m. This is your community. Please get involved.

I believe that most people should have gotten a hand-delivered flyer (I did, as did the neighbors I…Read More talked to, all but one), but they were delivered by volunteers and maybe it didn't reach everyone this year, or maybe they didn't read it when they saw it. This was the 4th year of the event, so I guess it might still be a little new for some folks, but it is usually in Aug each year. Of course the best way of finding out about any events in Rosemont is to actually join RCA and attend a meeting or two. That is how you could be "in the club”, and at the same time help support events like this one. The Celebration is FREE, but that doesn't mean it doesn't cost anything to put it on and they need more members. Probably at least 5 x the amount of people showed up at the Celebration compared to those who actually contributed to making it happen in one way or another. It could be even bigger if more people donated time and money. It was great SMUD sent out the mailers this year, I got mine a day before. I think overall RCA did a great job in getting the word out, but I'm sure some folks haven't learned about it yet. Each year it seems to get a little bit bigger. Hope you make it next time. Oh, btw, I think there is also a Homecoming Parade still planned if you haven't been informed of that yet. Been doing that for a few years too! Just giving you some advanced notice. But like I said, want to know what is going on in Rosemont? Join RCA.

Rosemont Community Assoc meeting meets every first Thursday, same time and place. RCA also has a website: http://www.rosemontca.org/. Our community needs as many people involved as possible.
