Atonement Lutheran Church is a small congregation that meets only on Sunday mornings. Pastor David Peters says the church seeks to be gracious and welcoming and doesn't place too many demands on its members. Atonement Lutheran allows many other groups, such as the Rosemont Community Association and other congregations, to use its facilities during the week. On the fourth Tuesday of every month, the church gives out free groceries from 10am until noon. The food is supplied by the Central Downtown Food Basket and the event attracts as many as 140 families in a single day. Sunday morning services feature an organist and pianist. Youth services aren't currently available.
