Triple-Digit Temperatures, Excessive Heat Watch Hit Region

It's expected to reach 105 and higher Sunday and early next week in Rosemont.

Don't forget the sunscreen — it's going to a hot weekend in the Sacramento area. 

The National Weather Service issued an excessive heat watch, effective Sunday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon with temperatures expected to reach triple-digit temperatures. Don't expect relief at night though, overnight lows will be in the upper 60s to lower 80s. 

"The air will feel more muggy than is typical for Northern California heat waves," according to the National Weather Service

During the heat watch, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are expected to be the hottest in Rosemont. It may reach 105 degrees Sunday and Monday; Tuesday may reach 106 degrees. 

Temperatures are expected to be in the 90s for the Fourth of July.
