Sac Metro Fire Accepts Kids Fire Camp Applications

The camp runs July 9-12. Applications are due May 27.

Local children can get an up-close look at the job of a firefighter through Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District's Fire Camp.

This year's camp runs from July 9-12 and is open to children ages 11, 12 and 13 living within the fire district's boundaries.

The kids are grouped in “strike teams” of eight campers, and each strike team is mentored and supervised by two professional firefighters.  Teams learn about the job of a firefighter and experience first hand important life safety skills.

To attend FIRE CAMP, applicants must be 11, 12 or 13 years of age.
Preference is given to applicants who live within the Metro Fire District boundaries.  Applications and more information can be found on our website:  www.metrofire.ca.gov.  Applications are processed in the order in which they are received, so the earlier you apply, the better the chance of securing a position.
