Season Ends on Disappointing Note for Cougars
The Capital Christian baseball team is eliminated by Escalon in the Sac-Joaquin Section semifinals.
All things must end, as the saying goes. For Capital Christian High School baseball, the team had hoped its season wouldn't end so soon.
The Cougars fell 6-2 to Escalon on Wednesday night in the second game of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division V baseball semifinals in Stockton. The loss eliminated Capital Christian (24-5) from the playoffs and ended a successful season.
The Cougars struggled early against a veteran Escalon squad, going hitless until the seventh inning. Despite a late rally, Capital Christian couldn't make up for the slow start, said head coach Nelson Randolph.

Still, after one of the school's best seasons in history, the head coach promised the team would rebound next year.
"Capital Christian will be back, and we will take the title," said Randolph.
