Sacramento Republic FC Gets New VP of Ticket Sales and Service

Sacramento Republic FC has hired Fred Matthes as Vice President of Ticket Sales and Service. Matthes joins Republic FC after working for D.C. United in Major League Soccer since the league's inaugural season in 1996, and was also recently involved with the International Champions Cup in San Francisco as well as part of Sacramento Soccer Day in July 2013.

As VP of ticket sales and service, Matthes will provide overall leadership, management and strategic direction for the Republic FC ticket sales department.

“Fred is such a strong addition to this team,” said Warren Smith the team’s President.  “Not only does he have great sales experience, but he has also been directly involved with ticket sales and operations of almost every major soccer event staged in the Washington, D.C. area over a two decade span. He has the passion and knowledge necessary to be a true leader in the organization and we are very excited to have him on board.”

Prior to joining Republic FC, Matthes contributed to D.C. United’s front office earning several Major League Soccer (MLS) Ticketing Awards. He has also worked directly with a variety of major soccer events, including the 1994 World Cup, MLS Cups in 1997, 2000 and 2007, and the Women’s World Cup in 1999 and 2003.

The California native graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, where he was also a goalkeeper with UCLA’s varsity soccer team for three seasons.

Assisting Matthes in ticket sales will be Chris Nasser as director of ticket sales. Nasser joins the club with over 20 years of sales experience, six of which were in the professional sports industry, as he previously worked for both the Oakland Athletics and the Sacramento River Cats.
