Come out to Capital Christian Center (Gym) to watch professional and amateur basketball players work on their game. The SPDL summer league games run from June 4
through June 28, 2012 with an all star game being held on June 28th. Under the direction of Guss Armstead and entering its 26th year, the Sacramento Professional developmental League (SPDL) is one of the premier stages for professional basketball players to showcase their talents and abilities. SPDL is an extremely competitive league. The talent level is of such high quality that NBA franchises use the pool to select players for their rookie and veteran camps. It is clearly among the best in the U.S. This is why pro scouts consider the league as one of their regular stops to look for talent. Previous SPDL players also speak highly of the league while developing careers in the NBA and overseas.
Former SPDL players include:
Ryan Anderson, Orlando Magic; Matt Barnes, Los Angeles Lakers; Rod Benson, Korea; Bobby Jackson, Sacramento Kings; Jason Kidd, New Jersey Nets; DeMarcus Nelson, France; Phil Ricci, Japan; Jason Thompson, Sacramento
Kings; Metta World Peace, Los Angeles Lakers…to name a few.
