CCHS Baseball Faces Elimination

The Cougars must win tonight to force a decided game against Escalon in the Sac-Joaquin Section baseball semifinals.

Capital Christian High School is facing a do-or-die scenario tonight against Escalon.

Win and the Cougars live to see another day, most likely this weekend, and fight for a chance to play in the Sac-Joaquin Section championships.

Lose the game, which starts at 5 p.m. at Billy Hebert Field in Stockon, and the season is over.

Last Saturday, the Cougars fumbled away momentum by losing 10-3 in the first game of the best-of-three series.  Capital Christian jumped out to an early lead in the game, but five errors ultimately doomed the team.

Those mistakes can't happen tonight, said head coach Nelson Randolph.

"We have to go out and play Capital Christian baseball," he said.

Roberto, Looks like the discourse is losing steam. There's an article in today's Bee by PaulRead More Krugman (Nobel Prize winner for economics) titled "Austerity policy creating long-term unemployment." I'd be interested in your thoughts on Krugman's take on the debt issue you raised days ago.

Now, now Mark, no need to get personal. Tom brings some important facts to the table. Our nation'sRead More spending is uncontrolled in almost every area including defense. We're not managing our spending and revenue is in the toilet. If the administration continues at this pace, they'll be going to Mexico for our next loan.
