Capital Christian Basketball Headed to NorCal Playoffs Saturday

The Capital Christian High School boys basketball team has been crowned section champion and is headed to the regional playoffs.

The Capital Christian Cougars basketball team is headed to the northern California CIF playoffs for the second year in a row.

The boys basketball team clinched its second consecutive section title last Friday, beating Brookside Christian by one point in the final seconds of their game at Sleep Train Arena.

"Capital Christian, the No. 2 seed, jumped out to an early lead then hung on late, with Tyler Jennings making a free throw with 0.7 seconds left to win the game," the Sac-Joaquin Section wrote on its blog.

The Capital Christian girls faced the same school in their own section final, but were defeated 72-28. The girls advanced past the first round of northern California playoffs and now face Eastside College Prep at 7 p.m. Saturday at that school: 1041 Myrtle St., East Palo Alto.

The Cougar boys had a first-round bye and have their first regional playoff matchup against Head-Royce School of Oakland 7 p.m. Saturday at home. Capital Christian's boys are the No. 2 seed in the regional playoffs.

Roberto, Looks like the discourse is losing steam. There's an article in today's Bee by PaulRead More Krugman (Nobel Prize winner for economics) titled "Austerity policy creating long-term unemployment." I'd be interested in your thoughts on Krugman's take on the debt issue you raised days ago.

Now, now Mark, no need to get personal. Tom brings some important facts to the table. Our nation'sRead More spending is uncontrolled in almost every area including defense. We're not managing our spending and revenue is in the toilet. If the administration continues at this pace, they'll be going to Mexico for our next loan.
