Where Will 6-Foot-6 CCHS Star Play College Basketball?

The Cougar basketball player has decided on a college.

Matt Donlan, a standout on , will play college basketball at South Dakota State University, his mother said Monday.

Tracey Donlan, , said the native Australian received scholarship offers from more than a half-dozen schools–more than she could remember.

"Over his recruiting this year we talked/had interest from more than 40 division One programs all across the country," Tracey Donlan said in an email. "Matt just felt that SDSU was a great fit for him with basketball and he has a great deal of respect for the coaches and the team. He loves the facilities at SDSU and it just felt 'right.' He will study Economics."

The Sacramento Bee described Matt Donlan this way: "Blessed with a 35-inch vertical leap, an outside game, post moves, the ability to handle the ball and run the floor, Donlan averaged 17.5 points and 5.3 rebounds in earning Golden Empire League MVP honors and Bee All-Metro accolades."

His future team, the South Dakota State Jackrabbits, played in its first NCAA Tournament this season, according to the Bee.

Matt Donlan will sign his letter of intent at a rally next week at , Tracey Donlan said.
