Video: Superintendent Raymond Gives an Update on the Fate of School Budgets

Sacramento City Unified School District Superintendent Jonathan Raymond explains the latest on the state budget crisis as it relates to public K-12 schools.

Wednesday morning, Sacramento City Unified School District Superintendent Jonathan Raymond attended an Earth Day celebration at Theodore Judah Elementary School in Sacramento. Many students participated in the festivities, and video from the event will be posted soon.

But Earth Day isn't the only thing on Raymond's mind right now, and Rosemont Patch asked him for the latest news on the state budget crisis. Gov. Jerry Brown previously said sending tax extensions to voters in June was crucial to funding public K-12 schools, but as time goes on that possibility looks less and less certain.

Watch the video above to hear what Raymond had to say.
