Vaccinations: RHS to Give Tdap Shots During School Oct. 5

Rosemont High School will hold a morning vaccination clinic on Oct. 5.

is giving students who are late getting whooping cough vaccinations another chance: a clinic during school hours next week.

The school will give the vaccine to students with signed permission slips from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday. The permission slip is attached to this article as a PDF file.

High schools in the Sacramento City Unified School District are under the gun to show that all students are complying with a new state law requiring a whooping cough vaccine or an exemption form from a parent or guardian. If the district has to send students home because they aren't vaccinated, it could lose funding for those students.

Next week is the district's deadline, and still 4,000 students–20 percent of the district's high schoolers–haven't gotten the vaccine or turned in a personal beliefs exemption form, according to the Sacramento Bee.
