School District to Talk Budget Cuts Jan. 12

The SCUSD is facing mid-year "trigger cuts" from the state.

The Sacramento City Unified School District will and its Board of Education will be discussing possible solutions on Jan. 12.

The meeting, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Serna Center (5735 47th Ave.), will be part of a series of meetings on cuts to make up for the money being taken by the state.

"A first review of potential recommendations will be provided at the Board meeting," a staff report states. "At that time, specific items will be identified for approval at the January 19 Board meeting. Additional areas of reduction will be discussed for approval at the February Board meetings."
