Rosemont High School Freshmen Less Fit Than State Average
Recently released state fitness test numbers show fewer ninth-graders at RHS met all criteria than did statewide.
Freshmen at are less fit than the state average, according to state figures released Thursday.
The numbers were part of the 2010 report on California Physical Fitness for grades five, seven and nine. Each grade was tested in six areas, and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson said the results were less than pleasing.
"Nothing is more important than the health of our children, and today's results show that many of them need a helping hand to get fit and stay in shape," Torlakson said in a press release Thursday.
