RHS Students Plan 'Wizard of Oz' Adaption by Former Teacher

The school is planning an adaption of "The Wizard of Oz."

drama students will soon present "The Wizard of Oz," but it won't be the same version their parents are used to seeing on television.

"We are presenting 'the Wizard of Oz and the Emerald City,' an adaptation of the Wizard of Oz by our former drama teacher, Ms. Dottie Bonneau, and a collaborative effort by [the Creative and Performing Arts] faculty, students and parents for the lyrics and music," drama teacher Ruth Cave-Sosa said in an email.

Bonneau will be leading a version of the play in Davis this summer, according to the Davis Enterprise.

Rosemont High School students will be able to get a sneak peek at the play on May 8 during second and third periods, Cave-Sosa said. The first performance of the play will be a $2 after-school performance for students on May 10.

Additional performance dates are as follows:

7 p.m. on Thursday, May 10
7 p.m. on Friday, May 11
7 p.m. Friday, May 18

A showing originally scheduled for May 17 had to be canceled, Cave-Sosa said.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and students with an ID, and $3 for children.

Roberto, Looks like the discourse is losing steam. There's an article in today's Bee by PaulRead More Krugman (Nobel Prize winner for economics) titled "Austerity policy creating long-term unemployment." I'd be interested in your thoughts on Krugman's take on the debt issue you raised days ago.

Now, now Mark, no need to get personal. Tom brings some important facts to the table. Our nation'sRead More spending is uncontrolled in almost every area including defense. We're not managing our spending and revenue is in the toilet. If the administration continues at this pace, they'll be going to Mexico for our next loan.
