Parents to Ask SCUSD Board to Save Rosemont Principal and APs

A group of parents will speak to the Sacramento City Unified School District board Thursday.

, and some parents aren't happy.

"Our concern is dismantling the current administrative team will not only be detrimental to the forward progress that Rosemont has made, but will also negatively affect our students, our families, and our community," a letter sent out by the school reads.

The letter, signed "The Parents, Students and Community Members of Rosemont High School," expresses concern about the four principals and "numerous assistant principals" Rosemont has had.

Rosemont High School Principal Leise Martinez previously said she and Assistant Principals Peter Callas and Nathan McGill received pink slips for next year.

PTA president Christina Pritchett said she would be speaking at the Sacramento City Unified School District Board of Education meeting Thursday night, even though the item isn't on the board's agenda.

Donald Terry, the Sacramento City Unified School District trustee who represents Rosemont, declined to comment for this article.

District spokesman Gabe Ross administrator dismissal and layoff notices are recommended by the superintendent, approved by the school board and become final at the end of May.
