The Sacramento City Unified School District Board of Education will meet Thursday, and is scheduled to discuss the principal job in a closed session. If a new principal is named, the board will have to announce his or her name after the closed session.

The board is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Serna Center, 5735 47th Ave. The closed session will begin at 4:30 p.m.
Trustees to discuss redistricting
The district's board of education will also discuss redistricting Thursday, with the goal of equaling the population of each of the seven trustee areas.

Area 3, which includes Rosemont, has about 700 people more than the target population of 46,354, according to a staff report.
Redistricting is required after each decennial census.
