Moms Talk Q&A: How to Handle a Bully

Our weekly question-and-answer column tackles the topic of bullying. Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments.

Q. What steps do I need to take if my child is being bullied at school?

A. Students who are being bullied at school should first report the problem immediately to any adult on campus.  The school officials will take a report which will then be given to the principal or assistant principal.

“The bully is also warned about further consequences if he/she retaliates” said Principal Amy Monte. “In fact, 22 teachers at Einstein Middle School met for three hours in January and developed a grassroots, school-wide anti-bullying effort which will be kicked off the week of April 11-15, our Anti-Bullying Week.”
