Homecoming Decorations Transform Rosemont High

Students worked late into Tuesday evening on homecoming decorations.

Students are staying late at this week, but it's by choice. They're busy preparing for the , and spent Tuesday working on decorations that fit this year's theme: "Shuffle Through Time."

Each class was busy decorating a common room to fit its era: "prehistoric" for the seniors, "futuristic" for the juniors, "medieval" for the sophomores and "the golden age" of the 1950s and 60s for freshmen.

"We've been working forever on it," senior Kari Truong said.

Senior class vice president Aleshia Ayers said the homecoming preparations started in August.

Class president Kiersten Jackson said the work is hectic, but she's enjoyed seeing all her classmates coming together on a project.

Junior Sarah Vasquez echoed those sentiments.

"I think probably what I'm most excited about is [that] just the whole junior class gets to come together," she said. "I think it's just a really big part of school spirit."

Later this week, students will be busy working on homecoming floats for Friday's parade down Kiefer Boulevard.
