Special to Rosemont Patch
On Saturday, Oct. 1, First Covenant Church held its annual all-church service day–a day set aside to serve the community with no “strings attached.” Approximately 250 people served throughout the Sacramento area at 12 project sites.
Rosemont’s was served by a group of approximately 30 men, women and children. A significant “makeover” was accomplished throughout the campus.
- The school’s garden was transformed from overgrown and weedy to manicured and weed-free.
- The cafeteria was left sparkling after virtually everything in it was scrubbed, mopped and wiped down; i.e., floors, tables, benches, windows, etc.
- Overhead spider webs in the hallways were removed throughout the campus and the quad area was power-washed.
By the end of the day, everyone was tired but happy and fulfilled.
First Covenant Church would like to invite other Rosemont schools to participate next year and encourages them to consider what their needs might be in October 2012.
