CCHS' Nissen Wins Top Scholarship in Lodi
The Capital Christian High School senior won a $1,500 scholarship this week.
A basketball player was given the top scholarship at a CIF Sac-Joaquin Section awards breakfast Tuesday in Lodi.
Tanner Nissen, a senior at the school, was awarded a $1,500 Clark Coover Scholarship, according to his mom, Kori Leth-Nissen, and the Stockton Record.
"I first heard the news that I won this award from my calculus teacher and cross country coach Mr. Jordan," a transcript of Tanner's thank you speech reads. "I do not believe there is another teacher who will help you with homework at 10 p.m. and also run with you during long, hard practices."
