Bank Teaches Students to Manage Money

Wells Fargo dropped by James W. Marshall Elementary School on Friday to talk dollars and common financial sense to a group of young students.

If some local bank executives have their way, elementary school students will think twice about how they spend their allowance this weekend.

Kevin Barri, a regional vice president from Wells Fargo, gave a financial literary seminar to students at James W. Marshall Elementary School on Friday.

Barri's presentation was captured in a video posted by the Sacramento City Unified School District.

"Who likes money in here?" asks Barri in the video.  Several students shyly raised their hand before helping Barri solve basic financial exercises presented in a slideshow.

Barri then discussed the difference between wants and needs, how to save and how to make a budget.  The entire presentation appeared to last about 15 to 20 minutes.
