Just YOU, ME, AND OUR THOUGHTS AND MEMORIES

Our Memories of the way we were.

This is my first experience with Rosemont Patch, and I must say it is excellent.  No place for tons of ignorant insults about gun control.  Only seven comments on guns and that attracts me to Rosemont Patch.  Strangely enough, I now live in Tulsa< Okla  but grew up in Glendale.  I don't even know where Rosemont is, but it must be close to Sacramento.  With the Editor"s ok, I would like a sharing of memories and the way things used to be.  No guns !  May I start this sharing by telling you of an event that occured in mid 40's.  We lived in Norton St in Glendale and that block was replete with every kind of kid you can imagine, including the block bully who was scary and that is no joke.  Even at such a young age, I saw the value in getting on the side of the good guys, and Jacky M. across the street was my first choice.  He had two brothers, Tom, and Charles, J being the youngest.  One day, J got into an argument with T. and J, called him a "Son of a Bitch"  I had never heard that term before, but it must have been some kind of royalty I thought. So, to get Jacky to like me, I agreed and said outloud.  "Yes, he is really a son of a bitch"  The Mother was within ear shot and she was very kind,  She asked me if I knew what a SOB was.  I said the son of a King or Queen.  After she told me, I felt so low.  Jacky really liked me, but T remained a distant acquaintance.  (Ok, please tell us all a story from your life..favorite teacher and why?    Bob Fishback Tulsa, OK  Age 74
