View and Share Photos of Space Shuttle Endeavour's Sacramento Flyover

Here are five things you should know about watching Space Shuttle Endeavour's farewell tour though the Sacramento area.

 

Are you heading out Friday morning to witness history?

The Space Shuttle Endeavour makes its once-in-a-lifetime farewell tour over Northern California, beginning sometime around 9:30 a.m.

Whether you’ve got a phone camera or a Nikon digital SLR, we want to see what you saw. Share your pictures with fellow Patch users here.

To make sure you have the most essential information Friday morning, here's what you need to know: 

  1. NASA will issue news of any changes, such as the one-hour takeoff delay time of 8:15 a.m., announced Thursday: http://www.nasa.gov/news/releases/latest/index.html
  2. The flight path take Space Shuttle Endeavour over the Sacramento area about 9:30 a.m., approaching from the south near Elk Grove, then passing over the Capitol, Sacramento Airport and midtown before heading west to San Francisco. It will fly over Los Angeles in the late morning.
  3. If  you spot the shuttle during the four-and-a-half-hour period, use Twitter hashtags #spottheshuttle and #OV105, Endeavour's vehicle designation.
  4. NASA will webstream the Endeavour’s progress beginning at 8 am. via: http://www.nasa.gov/ntv
  5. Share with your neighbors at Patch by uploading your photos! Just click on the "upload" button at the top. Include in the caption where you shot them, and what you were thinking. (You can on the NASA’s Flickr Group as well: http://www.flickr.com/groups/spaceshuttleendeavour
