Shelter Pets 75 Percent off this Month

The Sacramento County Animal Shelter is offering deep discounts until the end of the year.

The and other area shelters are offering 75 percent discounts on adoptions this month in an effort to find homes for 1,000 pets, according to a press release.

“Together, local shelters take in tens of thousands of animals every year and we are joining forces to make a dramatic impact this holiday season,” Sacramento County Animal Care and Regulation Interim Director Dave Dickinson was quoted as saying. “We all have wonderful animals looking for a lifelong, loving home and offer the incentive of 75 percent off on all adoptions.”

Adoptions at the county shelter usually cost $81 to $147 before the discount, the press release stated.

The promotion, dubbed "Home for the Holidays," runs through the end of December. It is also valid at the City of Sacramento Animal Care Services, Sacramento SPCA and the Happy Tails Pet Sanctuary.

Roberto, Looks like the discourse is losing steam. There's an article in today's Bee by PaulRead More Krugman (Nobel Prize winner for economics) titled "Austerity policy creating long-term unemployment." I'd be interested in your thoughts on Krugman's take on the debt issue you raised days ago.

Now, now Mark, no need to get personal. Tom brings some important facts to the table. Our nation'sRead More spending is uncontrolled in almost every area including defense. We're not managing our spending and revenue is in the toilet. If the administration continues at this pace, they'll be going to Mexico for our next loan.
