officials from the Rosemont area will help celebrate the military agency's 375th birthday this week.
The guard will celebrate at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the State Capitol's rotunda, 1315 10th St., according to a press release.
"The National Guard has played a major role in every armed conflict since the
Revolutionary War," the release quoted California National Guard Adjutant General Maj. Gen. David S. Baldwin, whose office is on Goethe Road, as saying. "In addition to responding to natural disasters and civic unrest at home, our troops have time and again answered our nation's call to arms."
The celebration Tuesday will feature comments from California National Guard officials and combat veterans, and "the traditional cutting of the birthday cake by
military and civic leaders," according to the release.
