Kings Should Stay in Sacramento, NBA Committee Votes Unanimously

An NBA owners committee has unanimously recommended that the Kings stay put in Sacramento, rather than moved to Seattle, according to ESPN

The owners of the Kings, the Maloof family, had been pushing the Kings be sold to a group that would move the team to Seattle. The finance and relocation committees held a conference call Monday afternoon to make their final decision on what to recommend to the rest of the league's owners after studying competing offers for several months.

Eight investors recruited by Mayor Kevin Johnson and led by Palo Alto software executive Vivek Ranadive submitted a proposal to keep the team in town. The deal matched Hansen's original offer of $341 million, according to a letter the Maloofs sent earlier this month to the NBA.
