Updated: CRPD to Hire Administrator Wednesday

The Cordova Recreation and Park District hasn't had a permanent district administrator since February 2011.

After nearly a year with an interim district administrator at the helm, the Cordova Recreation and Park District will hire a permanent leader Wednesday.

According to a press release and meeting agenda, the district's board of directors will vote on an employment agreement for a district administrator at its 6:30 p.m. meeting.

"The District has recently finalized the process for its Strategic Master Plan and has unveiled dynamic new goals and a long-term vision that will transform CRPD into a regional leader and premier service provider in the parks and recreation field," the district said in a press release. "In conjunction with these goals and to usher in this exciting time of growth and transition, the District ."

It says the Roseville firm of Bob Murray & Associates helped search for a candidate.

The permanent administrator, who is not named, will replace Interim District Administrator Doug Critchfield, who . The last full-time district administrator was David Edmonds, .

Update: Resource Manager Andrea White said "as a courtesy," the new hire's name will not be released prior to the meeting.

"This gives the candidate adequate time to inform their Board, supervisor, and staff of their departure from their current agency," White said in an email.
