CRPD May Replace $90K Mower, Appoint to Oversight Committee

A look at the Cordova Recreation and Park District Board of Directors meeting scheduled for Wednesday.

It takes a big mower to maintain all of the Cordova Recreation and Park District's parks, and the district says its 10-year-old model is in dire need of replacement.

This Wednesday, the district's board of directors will consider approving a five-year purchase agreement for a Jacobsen HR-9016. The total cost of the mower will be nearly $92,000.

"This mower will be used in all parks district-wide," the district states in a staff report. "The existing mower was purchased 10 +/- years ago and is in need of immediate replacement as it frequently breaks down and is not available to staff while being repaired."

Rancho Cordova resident Richard Godegast, who applied to the position and was interviewed earlier this month, may be appointed to the unpaid position. The district has had a string of vacancies on the committee since 2008, according to a staff report.
