CRPD Directors Returning for Another Term Wednesday

Reelected Cordova Recreation and Park District board members will be sworn in for second terms this week.

Voters sent a message last month that they were OK with the decisions being made at the Cordova Recreation and Park District, reelecting both incumbent board members.

They'll each be sworn in for another four-year term at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the district office, 2197 Chase Dr. in Rancho Cordova.

Current Board of Directors Chair Rick Sloan and Board Member Mark Baxter, both first elected in 2008, will return for another term on the board. They beat out sole challenger Michael Yearwood.

They'll be recognized with a short ceremony and reception.

Meanwhile, Board Vice Chair Brian Danzl still holds a seat on the park board; his bid for Rancho Cordova City Council failed by just three votes and has sought a recount.

Roberto, Looks like the discourse is losing steam. There's an article in today's Bee by PaulRead More Krugman (Nobel Prize winner for economics) titled "Austerity policy creating long-term unemployment." I'd be interested in your thoughts on Krugman's take on the debt issue you raised days ago.

Now, now Mark, no need to get personal. Tom brings some important facts to the table. Our nation'sRead More spending is uncontrolled in almost every area including defense. We're not managing our spending and revenue is in the toilet. If the administration continues at this pace, they'll be going to Mexico for our next loan.
