Sacramento County Probation officials plan to hold a February blood drive in Rosemont, but only if enough people pledge to donate.
As of Monday morning, they only needed five more pledges to ensure Blood Source would hold the event at the , 9601 Kiefer Blvd.
"Giving blood is one of the most generous acts of kindness one human being can do for another," Senior Deputy Probation Officer Merril Emelio said in an email. "Did you know one donation of blood has the potential to save as many as three lives and only three teaspoons of blood can save a baby's life?"
The event will be held Feb. 15, and residents interested in pledging to participate can contact Emelio at 916-875-0322 or emeliome@saccounty.net. Pledges are due by Dec. 28, Emelio said.
