Adopt a Pet for $39.99 This Weekend
The Sacramento County Animal Shelter is participating in a two-day adoption drive.
The is one of four local shelters pushing to find homes for 200 pets this weekend.
As part of the ASPCA Mega Match-a-thon, adoption fees at the Bradshaw Road shelter will be reduced to $39.99 on Saturday and Sunday.
"More than 40,000 homeless animals will enter Sacramento animal shelters this year alone," a press release for the event states. "Sacramento shelters need community support to find adoptive homes for thousands of animals annually."

According to an ASPCA blog, that organization provided grant funding to more than 50 animal shelters.
"We hope the grant funding will help these rescue organizations—in collaboration with other groups in their community—save a record number of lives during the ASPCA’s ‘Mega Match-a-thon’ event," ASPCA President and CEO Ed Sayres was quoted as saying. "If we all work together, we can find loving homes for the many homeless animals in shelters across the country."
