Woman Allegedly Beats Mother With Pipe

A Rosemont woman was arrested last week.

A 30-year-old Rosemont woman was arrested last week after authorities say she hit her mother over the head with a metal pipe.

According to a Sacramento County Sheriff's Department crime log, Brittiney Velasquez and her mother argued at the mother's Moonbeam Drive home on Sept. 21.

Velasquez hit her mother in the back of the head with a metal pipe, "causing complaint of pain," the crime log states. She left and later returned, hitting her mother "on the shoulder and hand with a long piece of metal causing visible injuries."

Velasquez's mother told authorities that her daughter is a transient, but stays at her home occasionally, department spokesman Dep. Jason Ramos said. Velasquez listed the Moonbeam Drive home as her residence, he said.

Velasquez is currently being held at the Sacramento County Main Jail on a felony count of assault with a deadly weapon. Her bail is set at $60,000, and she is next due in court Wednesday morning.
