A man with a warrant out for his arrest had an extra charge added on when he was found in Rosemont over the weekend.
Edward Mitchell, 38, was wanted on a misdemeanor grand theft charge from 2011, according to county records.
Rancho Cordova Police officers saw him on Saturday night sitting in a truck outside the Travelodge motel on Micron Avenue and Bradshaw Road, Sacramento County Sheriff's Department spokesman Dep. Jason Ramos said. Mitchell was found to have a warrant out for his arrest, and officers took him into custody.
While he was being arrested, officers searched him and found methamphetamine in his pants pocket, according to a department crime log.
He's currently being held at the Sacramento County Main Jail on a felony drug charge, a misdemeanor charge of violating his probation, and the misdemeanor grand theft charge. He's not eligible for bail, and is due in court Wednesday.
