Update: Man Killed on Westporter Identified as 21-Year-Old

Alexander Brian Chavez was shot and killed Thursday in Rosemont.

Sacramento County officials have released the identity of the man shot and killed Thursday night in Rosemont.

The victim was 21-year-old Alexander Brian Chavez, according to the Sacramento County Coroner.

He was driving north on Westporter Drive when he was shot around 6:20 p.m., officials said Thursday night.

News10 reported that Chavez had just picked up his girlfriend and was less than 5 minutes away from his home when he was shot and killed by an unknown suspect in another car.
