Three of Four Suspects Escape in Search Near Jackson and Watt

One suspect was arrested early Wednesday, but details are scarce.

Authorities combed a Rosemont neighborhood early Wednesday for four suspects they thought might have been involved in an earlier robbery, but were only able to find one, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Dep. Jason Ramos said.

Around 12:20 a.m. Wednesday, the sheriff’s department received a call from the California Highway Patrol asking for help finding four suspects who ran from a car near Jackson Road and Thornhill Drive, Ramos said.

The CHP said the suspects’ car matched the description of one used in an armed robbery in the Florin area Tuesday, Ramos said. He was unable to provide any other information on that robbery.

Local CHP media representatives have not returned multiple calls and emails as of this posting.

Ramos said the sheriff’s department set up a perimeter while the Sacramento Police Department helicopter searched for the suspects. The sheriff’s department and the city police helicopters take alternating shifts covering the region, and it happened to be the city’s turn, he said.

The CHP found and arrested one suspect in the 8900 block of Prairie Trail Way, Ramos said, unable to provide the suspect’s name or any further information.

Authorities also found a handgun dumped near an apartment complex in the 4000 block of South Watt Avenue, he said.

Rosemont Patch will continue to attempt to reach the CHP for more information about this incident.
