Teen Arrested on Suspicion of Sunday Morning DUI

Pedro Andres Chavez was arrested over the weekend.

A 19-year-old was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Sunday morning in Rosemont, authorities say.

Sacramento County Sheriff's Department spokesman Dep. Jason Ramos said an employee at the Kiefer Boulevard 7-Eleven called authorities at 8:10 a.m. Sunday "saying there was a guy that seemed drunk and was leaning on a car out there."

The suspect left the store before deputies arrived, but he was spotted driving near Huntsman and Eisenhower Drives, Ramos said.

Ramos said the driver was found to be driving under the influence and was arrested by the California Highway Patrol. A CHP representative identified the driver as Pedro Andres Chavez.

Chavez was released the same day, and Ramos said he was "cited out, with a date to appear in court."
