Suspect Shot During Alleged Folsom Boulevard Robbery

--

A man shot dead at a Folsom Boulevard business near Rosemont was trying to rob the store, according to the storekeeper who reportedly shot him Sunday, sheriff's officials said.

Investigators called to 8975 Folsom Blvd. about 3 p.m. found a man dead inside a business, reportedly shot by a storekeeper while trying to rob the place, said Sacramento County sheriff's Sgt. Jason Ramos.

Two men standing outside the business told deputies the man had tried to rob the business and one of the workers had shot him, Ramos wrote in a news release.

The address is listed as a Metro PCS store, according to Yahoo Search.

A pistol lay beside the dead man, who had been shot once in the upper body, Ramos said.

Sheriff's homicide detectives were investigating the case and detained the employees for questioning, said Ramos, adding that the men were cooperating fully with investigators.

The weapon purportedly used by the employee was also recovered, Ramos said.

No one else was in the store at the time of the shooting, Ramos said; there was also no indication that anyone else was involved in the shooting.

Officials were withholding the identity of the man who was killed, pending notification of kin.

Correction: A previous version of this story misidentified the location of the incident. This incident took place in unincorporated Sacramento County. Patch regrets the error.

Is that really a Rancho Cordova business? I thought that area was still part of unincorporated Sacramento.

Your right Denise, These news people dont know Rancho Cordova from Sacramento. Maybe one day they will get their head of out where the sun dont shine...
P.O. Cordovan February 19, 2013 at 02:14 pm
Definitely not Rancho Cordova. Not even that close -- it's about 2.7 miles away.
Very frustrating that news media can't get this presented accurately.

Hi folks, you're definitely correct about that not being Rancho Cordova. I think the error may have come from the fact that both RCPD and sheriff's deputies responded to the scene. I apologize for the error.

The Marks of this world are too blind to facts to bother arguing with. He thinks 4 generation ofRead More welfare and more people on food stamps then ever before in history is progress! What's the point acknowledging such absurd nonsense? Don't bother Roberto, complete waste of effort.

Nobody likes debt or an economy that is limping along. Obama has done an admirable job consideringRead More what he's had to put up with. The deficit has been reduced considerably. Stock market is as high as ever. Unemployment is still a big problem. Thank God we still have food stamps to help those people who have lost their jobs. Our bridges are falling apart. How about we invest in fixing our crumbling infrastructure, get those people back to work, get them spending, stimulate this economy. Oh, that's right, if Obama is for it, the opposition will automatically be against it (even if it's their idea!) .

Here we go - perfect example of a blind koolaid drinker. Listen to this: "The deficit has beenRead More reduced considerably" REALLY, then why has it doubled in the last few years? What planet are you from? "Thank God we still have food stamps to help those people who have lost their jobs." then "Obama has done an admirable job"....HELLOOOOOO! You can't have it both ways. My god we are lost if this is the mentality that is voting now - totally lost. I wish these types were routed out of the gene pool when things were tough and they would simply perish from stupidity. Now days thing are so easy they thrive and reproduce. Watch in 10 years how GREAT things are, just watch.
