Sheriff's East Division and RCPD to Give Tours Wednesday

Tours of the new station will be given Wednesday afternoon.

A couple months after moving in, the Rancho Cordova Police Department is ready to show off its new digs.

The department and the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department's East Division, which patrols Rosemont, will hold an open house Wednesday afternoon at their new station.

Tours will be given from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., and a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. The station is located at 2897 Kilgore Rd., Rancho Cordova.

"The city has owned the building for several years, but they did some pretty major remodeling and tenant improvements to convert it to the police station," said Megan Hoffman, a spokeswoman for the city of Rancho Cordova. "It’s pretty impressive to walk through."

Hot dogs and beverages will be served at the open house, Hoffman said.

Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones, Rancho Cordova Police Chief Doug Diamond and other local officials will be on hand to give remarks, she said.
