Sheriff's Dept. to Live-Tweet Saturday Shift: Follow Here

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department will hold a virtual ride-along, called a #tweetalong, from 3 p.m. to midnight Saturday.

Members of the public will have the chance to ride along with a Sacramento County Sheriff's deputy Saturday from the comfort of their homes.

The department will be live-tweeting an entire shift Saturday in the north area of Sacramento County.

"From 3 p.m. until midnight this Saturday, February 9th, a member of the Sheriff’s social media team will ride along with deputies in the North area of Sacramento County and tweet everything that happens," the department said in a post on Facebook.

The event, dubbed a #tweetalong, can be followed at http://twitter.com/sacsheriff or at the top of this article, where the department's Twitter stream is embedded.
