Secret Cash Stash Doesn't Pay for Burglar from Citrus Heights

Man from Citrus Heights headed to prison after Bay Area police arrest him with $12,000 hidden in his pants.

The Daily Journal in San Mateo County today reports that a Citrus Heights man  — arrested with $12,000 hidden between his buttocks — is heading to prison.

The Daily Journal reports that Raphaelle Trendell Jones, 24, of Citrus Heights and a fellow co-defendant Wyatt King, 34, were arrested for a series Bay Area burglaries October 12. Police reportedly found King with $700 in his shoe. Jones, on the other hand, reportedly attempted to hide $12,000 in his buttocks, the Peninsula-based news site reports.

Jones, who remains in custody on $150,000 bail, pleaded no contest to residential burglaries in Redwood City and Belmont. The plea resulted in a two-year sentence, the news site reports. Prosecutors, however, wanted a four-year maximum prison sentence for Jones, the Daily Journal states.
