Sacramento Sheriff’s Department Release Identity of Victim Found in Rosemont Community Park

The body of 13-year-old Jessica Funk-Haslam was found this morning at Rosemont Community Park.

Sacramento Sheriff’s Department said the victim whose body was found this morning at was 13-year-old Jessica Funk-Haslam.

She was last seen by her family members at her home around 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Funk-Haslam’s body was found at the park this morning on the ground inside one of the dugouts and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff’s spokesman Jason Ramos said there was obvious trauma to Funk-Haslam’s body, however, investigators have not yet determined the cause of death. Ramos said they have labeled the investigation as a homicide.

No suspect information has been released. Sheriff deputies and detectives are still canvassing the neighborhood for information about any activity at the park yesterday evening and this morning.  

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at 916-874-5115, Crime Alert at 916-443-HELP or send a text message tip to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
