'Poundcake' Arrested at Rite Aid on Robbery Charges

A woman was arrested at the Rite Aid on Kiefer Boulevard Tuesday after allegedly being caught shoplifting.

A 49-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday after she allegedly tried to stuff more than 20 items into her purse and under her bra at the Rite-Aid on Kiefer Boulevard, according to a recent Sacramento County Sheriff's Department crime log.

The woman, LaJoy Duncan, allegedly took $158 worth of body sprays and feminine hygiene products, but was spotted by a loss-prevention officer, the department said.

When confronted outside the store, Duncan allegedly punched and scratched at the loss-prevention officer, then fled.

Sheriff's deputies located her a few stores away and arrested her, the crime log states.

Duncan is currently being held without bail at the Sacramento County Main Jail on a felony charge of robbery and a misdemeanor charge of petty theft with a prior theft conviction.

According to Sacramento County records, one of Duncan's aliases is "Poundcake."

Sheriff's department officials declined to release Duncan's booking photo because she had already been arraigned. She is next due in court on March 14.
