PHOTOS: Car Slides Off Rain-Soaked Road Near Light Rail

"This vehicle came to rest in a ditch between the light rail and heavy rail tracks approximately 75 feet east of Mayhew & Folsom Blvd intersection."

Rosemont Patch user Richard Shell shared these photos with us during the rain-soaked weekend. He said the accident happened around 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, and he said they are a good example of "what happens when one drives too fast in the rain."

Here's Shell's explanation of the accident:

This vehicle came to rest in a ditch between the light rail and heavy rail tracks approximately 75 feet east of Mayhew & Folsom Blvd intersection.  It appeared the vehicle was east bound on Folsom and perhaps missed the turn onto southbound Mayhew.  The light rail officer at the scene said no one was injured in this solo vehicle mishap.  It appeared light rail travel was momentarily disrupted while a flat bed tow truck removed the vehicle from the scene.
