Norcade Arrest Made on Domestic Violence Charges

Ranell Edwards, 20, was arrested Thursday.

A 20-year-old man was arrested just north of Rosemont last week on suspicion of punching and choking his live-in girlfriend, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department.

Ranell Edwards and his girlfriend, who have a child together, were in an argument that escalated into a physical fight Thursday evening at their home on Norcade Circle, according to a sheriff's department crime log.

Edwards "struck [his girlfriend] several times in the face with a closed fist causing injury" and "threw [her] to the ground and choked her," the crime log states.

He was arrested on a charge of domestic violence, but was released Tuesday, according to county records.
