Three people were arrested on suspicion of burglary over the weekend after a neighbor saw them scoping out a home in Rosemont and called the police, according to a Sacramento County Sheriff's Department crime log.
Melvin Anderson, 20, Devante Brooks, 19, and a 14-year-old male were all arrested on Saturday. Anderson and Brooks are currently being held in the Sacramento County Main Jail on felony charges of attempted burglary, according to county records.
The incident started when a resident saw the trio "looking into the yard of [the victim's] residence" on Posada Way, according to a Sacramento County Sheriff's Department crime log. The witness "knew the suspects did not live at the residence," the crime log states.
The three allegedly entered the backyard through the side gate, but were caught by deputies nearby. The department said Brooks was found nearby, Anderson was caught "running from the front yard of the residence," and the juvenile was apprehended while climbing over the backyard fence.
Authorities found one window screen removed and another "bent away from the window," the crime log states.
"A detective found a text message between [Brooks] and [Anderson] saying there was no one was home," the crime log states. "The message was sent shortly before [the neighbor] called 911."
I agree its time to annex to city or Rancho Cordova,. Although I think Rancho Cordova may not be the way to go but instead associate more with college greens. If you notice how much 65th n Folsom has come up I think Rosemont would be better servedby annexing to the city of Sac and trying to associate us with more than those two areas. Rancho Still has a long way to go...The problem is the neighborhood association is outdated and doesnt care about keeping the community on top of things they still think this area is what is was 20 yrs ago and let me tell you it is NOT, I have volunteered to do a membership drive in front of grocery back when it was luckys..I have suggested this many times to NO AVAIL. The cc&r 's are always violated and the neighborhood assoc. says there is nothing they can do because of multiple builders in the area, well why can areas like curtice park enforce theirs ??? Thaey have way more builders than Rosemont and many were built in the 1920's..here is my email if youd like to reach me jgask3740@aol.com
If your garage is open, they will walk right up and look inside to scope out what can be easily grabbed. I have had our garage broken into(our dogs gave chase), my car was almost stolen in 2006, but thanks to an anti-theft device the car stalled when the guy cut the wires, none the less they thrashed the inside of both of our cars. On our block car windows have been smashed, spray painted messages on sides of cars and on homes. It is plain disrespect, careless and wreckless behavior for no other reason than just to do it. Large groups of teens and young men walking down the street right in the middle and will not move. It is simply rude and unbelievable behavior. More people caring, more people making their presence known, more calls, more lighting...More police presence truly makes a difference!
I am a dog owner, I have had neighbors complain about my dogs even barking for 5 minutes mid-day, yet their teens do 60 miles an hour down the road. One may be bothersome (except when those same dogs gave chase to burglars), but the other is deadly.
