Man Taken to Hospital After Alleged Suicide Threats

A Rosemont resident was taken to UC Davis Medical Center Friday.

A Rosemont man who authorities say was drunk and threatening to commit suicide was restrained and taken to an area hospital Friday.

Sacramento County Sheriff's Department spokesman Dep. Jason Ramos said the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District requested deputies to a call on Huntsman Drive of "a man who was reportedly drunk and threatening to commit suicide.

"We went along as a precaution," Ramos said in an email. "Upon arrival, the man fought with officers."

Ramos said the man was "restrained and was transported to [UC Davis Medical Center] by fire personnel, because of his state of intoxication and suicidal threats."

The initial call came in around 3 p.m.
