A 20-year-old man is expected to live after being shot near Sequoia Elementary School on Rosemont Drive Saturday, authorities said.
Sacramento County Sheriff's Department spokesman Dep. Jason Ramos said around 5:19 p.m., the 20-year-old was confronted by a black male with a gun.
"The suspect demanded money from the victim and then shot him in the neck before running away on foot," Ramos said in an email. "Suspect [is] described as a black male, 16-18, with a hoodie on. He is still being sought."
Ramos said the victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.
